I had a wild idea.....

why not use my existing garden area border to grow...

you guessed it...

MORE VEGETABLES!! 

 I've decided to get rid of all my dying shrubs

and replace them with...

MORE VEGETABLES!!  

Here is my plan!!

2012~ WHAT'S GROWING SERIES~RECYCLED FENCE GREENHOUSE BENCHES!

We had a wind storm last year November 

& most of our fences got blown down. 

 I kept 2 of the fences thinking i'll use it for something. 

I've been Recycling, Reusing & Reducing lately!

So, since I have the Greenhouse now, 

I thought that I could use them on the benches

I need to make to put my plants on.  

This is how they turned out!

The legs are on!

First one stained....

Don't you just love that rich color!!

I know I do!

 Both stained...looking "sexy"!

This is the fence that I took apart.  

I used both fences to cover both table tops and bottoms.

All cut into pieces....

  A lot of sanding....

All stained and nailed down,

using all the nails I took out of the fences.

They love their new home!

 Don't they look FABULOUS!!!

I'm so excited to use them!

And I did this all DIY!!

2012~"WHAT'S GROWING SERIES"~MY NEW GREENHOUSE & INDOOR NURSERY!

I'm starting a new GARDEN SERIES called 
"2012~WHAT'S GROWING SERIES".
I'll be taking you along as I set up my garden, plant my garden & all the things in between.
Hope you'll all come along with me!


 I decided to get an early start on my gardening this year.  I stole the shelf from my garage, ordered some warming mats for my seedlings,  purchased some fluorescent garage lights & bulbs from Home Depot and purchased my seeds from 

BAKER CREEK SEED COMPANY.  

Their seeds are NON GMO  -Pollinated, Pure, Natural & NON-GMO (Non Genetically Modified Organisms). 

Here are my little babies in the nursery in my family room!!

I always wanted a Greenhouse to extend my planting season.  

At Lowes, I Purchased  this

 (8 x 10 x 8) SPRING GARDENER  GARDEN GREENHOUSE 

For a beginner like myself, this is perfect.  

Here she is all put together in my backyard spot.

I place the Greenhouse on a cement slab, and nailed it to the ground using this nail gun, nails & .22 shells.  so that it won't move if there are high winds.

The baby isn't going ANYWHERE!!

I also stapled pieces of furring strips to the bottom to seal the Greenhouse. 

 Later I'll seal the inside with caulk.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR (TREES)

Been a long time since my last post.  I'm still alive and loving the spring colors and flowers.  Just wanted to share these beautiful pictures of my tree in the front of my house.  I hope spring is showing it's colors near you!  Enjoy.

BOARD & BATTEN~JORDAN'S BEDROOM ~ DONE!

WOW.....It's done.  Paint is dry, new bedding and pillows on bed, carpets vacuumed and shampooed.  

I am so amazed at myself for doing this for the very first time!

My daughter and my little guy wants me to do their rooms next.

The blanket is so amazingly soft!  And yes,  that's the same bunk bed!
I transformed it into a full size bed.

I just want to stay in this room all DAY!!

WAINSCOTING FINALLY DONE!!

Yeah, my first attempt of Wainscoting is finally done.  

And I am loving it!!  What do you think?  

I think it turned out great.  

NEXT step....Paint and decorating!!

BIG BOY'S ROOM REMODEL PART 2

This is Part 2 of my son's Remodel.  Wallpaper is GONE!! Whoohooo!!  

Walpaper Removal Tip: Use Fabric Softener, diluted with water instead of those harsh Chemicals they sell in the stores.  And, it smells amazing too!
