SECRET SISTER CAMP SURPRISE!!

My daughter went to Girls Camp and she was asked to share or make something for another girl in her camp that cost under $5.
It's called Secret Sister!
Of course my wheels were spinning, trying to figure out what to make!!
We were given some clues about her Secret Sister.
 The clues were:
1) She loves TOOTSIE ROLLS!
2) She also loves 100 Grand Candy Bars.
3) Her favorite colors are Blue & Green!
 So off we went....
Tootsie Rolls are the hardest thing to find this time of the year....Augh!!
But of course, we found them at good ole' Michaels Craft Store!
And in the JUMBO size!!
This is what we made with the Giant Tootsie Roll!
"Happy Happy, Joy, Joy!!"

For the note pad, I borrowed this idea from Kerry over at
Her projects are so super cute and easy to make!!
I made this in less than 5 minutes!!
(No lie)!

We loaded some 100 Grand mini candy bars in the mason jar.
These are all the treats she took to camp with her!
Have a fabulous weekend!

"WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO....."

Oh my....I have been missing in action for what feels like forever!!  I have been "CRAZY BUSY", starting "TONS" of projects!  My family and I just got home from our New York Summer Vacation.  Had tons of fun.  We ate enough pizza to last us a few months.
New York pizza is "to die for".
We always bring at least 2 frozen pizza's back home with us.
Now this is what "REAL" pizza looks like!!
We went to New York City (Manhattan) where we did some sightseeing, and stopped by a little street food festival and tried "FRIED OREOS"!!  Can you believe it!!  They were so delicious...there goes an extra 5lbs
We did some more sightseeing at West Point Military Academy, fishing and visited with some friends and family.

How's your summer going?
I must say, I'm glad to be back home again.
I've got tons of projects in the works to show, so stay tuned!
Until later!!

FATHER'S DAY 2011

My daughter and I made Dad, Father's Day Breakfast!
Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese on a tortilla!
 It was the YUMMIEST!
..I added freshly picked dill from my garden.

....melted the ham and Montery Pepperjack Cheese on the tortilla...

.....rolled it up in the tortilla and that's it!

My daughter made Dad this card all by herself!  I think she has caught the BUG~!!  Now only if I could get her to use my Cricut!
This is what she wrote inside the card...
It goes so well with the lighthouse!!

I made this quick card for the boys to give to their dad....
They haven't caught the BUG yet  ;-)
Todays request for Father's Day Dinner~~~Chicken Cordon Bleu, with cream sauce, white rice, salad, string beans and of course, German Chocolate Cake.  My husband only asks for this meal two times a year....It is amazing and sooo super easy to make.   Did you notice the huge radishes in the salad??!!  I'm getting so many radishes from my garden.   I'll take some pictures of my garden's progress real soon.

For the writing on the cake, I used this method of printing with chocolate because my
handwriting isn't the best.
First, I printed out the phrase and stapled it under parchment paper.
Then you just copy the print with melted chocolate.

...wait for the chocolate to harden and transfer it to the cake.
All done!
Kids made all the chocolate hearts!
I hope all you DAD"s had a
fabulous
Father's Day!

END OF SCHOOL TEACHER GIFTS & CARDS ALSO BOO HOOING OVER "DRAGONFLY"

Has anyone seen the movie "Dragonfly", with Kevin Costner and Kathy Bates?  It is my by far my favorite movie!  It's a must see!!  If you haven't seen it, rent it or buy it, and watch it soon.  It will steal your heart!  I have seen it (no lie) about 30 times now, and it always makes me BOO HOO!!
Ok, now on to other things!  Yes, since it has gotten warmer around here, I haven't been in my craftroom lately, but today is the last day of school for my kids and of course I had to give my kids teachers, some homemade teacher's gift for being such amazing teachers.   I made two cards to go along with the potted plants.
Here they are:  Don't they look amazing!!

Recipe:
Terracotta Pots w/base (Home Depot Around $2.00) each set.
Basil Plants $3.39 each
Spray paint (stock) $0.00
Primer (stock) $0.00
Scrap Vinyl (stock) $0.00
Transfer Paper
Cricut or Silhouette Cutter
This is how I made them "PRETTY".

First I primed them with a Primer & let them dry.

Then I used my Cricut to cut the letter on scrap vinyl.

Used transfer paper to transfer the letters to the pots.

Then I sprayed the red paint over the vinyl

& let dry.

2 coats later, completely covering the word.

Peel off the painted words very carefully.

& this is what is left.  Aren't they just shiny & beautiful!!

Fill with garden soil and plant the basil.

Here are the cards I made to go along with the plants.m
This one is for my daughter Taylor's teacher,  thanks Ms. Cox!

And this is for my son Chris's teacher..thanks Mr. Purser.

All done!
They loved them.
Now to think of some fun stuff to do with the kids for summer vacation!
Have a fabulous weekend!
