Busy Bug Babble - My Vinyl Haul!

Hello crafters.  I just received my order from signwarehouse.com and thought I would post my haul.  When I order from Sign Warehouse, I always order the 24 x 10. That's 24inch for the width and 10 yards, length.  You can also get 50 yard rolls.  I always ask them to cut the roll in half.  So I end up with two rolls of each color, that's 12inch x 10ft and ready for me to cut on my Cricket!  Here are a few pictures of my Haul!

THEY HAVE THE BEST VINYL..(I don't work for them..I just order from them)

This is the cut roll.  It was 24 x 10.  After the cut it's now 2 sets of 12inch x 10ft rolls.

The colors are: starting from top left,
Azure Blue, Red, Soft Pink, Lavender, Violet
White, Dark Green, Lime Tree Green, Pink, Black & Silver Grey Metallic

This is how thick each roll is!
I must say, I am all set with vinyl for a while :-)
Keep watching my blog  for some cool vinyl projects to come!

Busy Bug Babble... I finally did it! Ribbon Organizer.

Oh my, I finally did it.  I broke down and got the ribbon organizer from http://www.ribbonring.com.  I have wanted to organize my ribbons for so long now.  I've seen this system before and have wanted it for a while now.  Didn't know anything about it until I saw this post on the Cricut Community site.  (scrapbook rooms) "My Little Yellow Dungeon".
Her blog is http://original-scraplifter.blogspot.com.  Check out her ribbon organization.  It's the "BOMB"!

Guess what I will be organizing next!!  Hehe....

This is my ribbon storage NOW!!

FAIL!  "As my son would say!
I'll post the after pictures when I receive and organize my ribbons!
Until then...Bug Hugs.

Project #37 - Scraproom Makeover-Paper Storage

Hello crafters.  I have been away much too long.  I have been so busy cleaning, cleaning and yes cleaning!  It never ends! I took a break and cleaned some more, :-) but this time it was for me!  I hated my 8 1/2 x 11 paper storage area which was right above my desk.  I just never liked what it looked like, and it wasn't very efficient.   I couldn't see what type of paper I had, because they were inside the drawers.  The drawers were constantly falling down, into the drawers below because the papers were too heavy.  I decided to get some more Jetmax Drawers from Michaels.
Here is the before picture (hated it!)

And this is after!   "JETMAX" to the rescue.... So Much Better....Ahhhh   ;-)

Busy Bug Babble... Wow, my blog has ATTITUDE!! Don't ya love it!

Hello crafters, I received an award from my dear blogger friend Jen!  Thanks Jen, for tchoosing me for this ward.  You can visit Jen over at her blog http://jennyscards.blogspot.com,she has some really neat projects.  To accept this award and be eligible for the $5.00 free dig certificate, I need to list 3 things that make me or my blog different.  And then post it on 5 additional bloggers site.  Display the badge/award on your sidebar linking to the Digis with Attitude Challenge Blog.  Please visit the Digi's with Attitude site for the guidelines  http://digiswithattitudechallenges.blogspot.com/p/i-got-attitude-blog-award.html.  Nominate FIVE people (that you think have ATTITUDE) to get this award, and if they follow through with the "rules", they receive a $5 gift certificate from Digi's with Attitude!
The three things that make my blog different are:
One..
I love exploring new blogs and subscribing to them so that I can get inspired and see their creations as they are posted.
Two...
I absolutely love using my Cricut to create and to share my creations with all my followers/subscribers.
And three,
I absolutely love to answer questions and explain techniques whenever my followers/subscribers need help.

I need to give this award to 5 bloggers that deserve this award because they are fabulous followers.  It was really hard to choose just 5, since you all are so awesome!!

Project #36 - Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hello crafters!.  I have something different for this post today.  I have been so busy in my kitchen for the past two days, cooking and baking.  I really miss my scrap room.  I think I will visit it tomorrow!  But for today, I made the most delicious cookies ever!  I mean, I have made my share of cookies for my kids and husband, but this one takes the "COOKIE"!  It's just a simple chocolate chip cookie, with a little addition in the ingredient.  I think the baking soda does the trick.  The cookies come out crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside.  Here is the recipe,

I can't keep the kids away from them!
INGREDIENTS:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
3.Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. ENJOY!

Here is a little of what you will see as you are Updating the Gypsy....

Project #35 - Halloween Cupcakes

Happy Halloween Crafters.  I know it's after Halloween, but I have been so busy with the kids and I just wanted to post this since I think they are just adorable.  Hope everyone has eaten enough candy!!  The kids  absolutely loved them.  They were so easy to make.  Here are the instructions.
1 tub Duncan Hines Classic Dark-Chocolate Fudge frosting or any frosting of your choice
         Parchment Paper
Icing Bag & #2 frosting tip
         2 cup(s) white-chocolate chips
         spiderweb template

Put spiderweb template on cookie sheet. I copy a bunch of webs and cut them out separately.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper on top of templates.
Microwave white-chocolate chips in a bowl for 30 seconds and stir. Continue to microwave in 20-second intervals until almost melted. Stir again until chocolate is completely melted.
To make each web, use frosting bag and tip, to trace white chocolate along design, making sure to connect all lines. Repeat process until you've created 24 toppers. Chill them in refrigerator for 10 minutes

To Glaze Cupcakes:
  1. Transfer frosting into a bowl, microwave for 10 seconds, and stir; repeat until thin enough to pour. Dip cupcake upside down into frosting, submerging the top but not touching liner to frosting. Let excess drip off before turning upright. Continue until all cupcakes are glazed.
Carefully lift off cobwebs from cookie sheet and secure with a little frosting on top of cupcakes.  Enjoy! Bug Hugs!

Project #34 - Graveyard Halloween Decor.

Hello crafters,  I finally finished this project that I have been working on for the past week! YAAAA!!!! I just love to decorate, especially around this time of year!  I had my front porch all decked out for Halloween, and then I took a step back and noticed that I had this beautiful blank canvas, the garage door, to work on.  After I was done, I noticed that I was getting lots of driveby's and knocks on my door from neighbors, asking me how I created this MASTERPIECE!!  :-)   It was so super fun to create this Graveyard Scene, using my Cricut Expression, Happy Hauntings Cartridge and vinyl.  I think it turned out great....what do you think?

Project #33- Hot Chocolate Slider Gifts

Hello Crafters!  This week in our church it was Teacher Appreciation Week in my kids Primary Classes.  Each year, I put together something for my kids for their primary teachers to show them how much we appreciate what they do.  This year I decided to do some Hot Chocolate Slider Gifts.  They are so super easy to make, and they look so darling.  You can embellish them with whatever comes to mind.  The kids were so proud to deliver them to their teachers!!  Enjoy! Project #32 - Gypsy "Hide Button"

Hello crafters.....WOW!!!   It's finally done...It took me long enough :-).   Well here it is, after a couple of no-goes with Youtube.  The Gypsy Hide Button is so awesome.  You get to create different looking elements.  You can easily change what some element looks like to your liking!  Even more uses for your Gypsy.  I love this feature.  Well, I hope this video helps!  If there is any more questions about the Gypsy features that you would like to see, please let me know.  I will gladly do other videos highlighting them.  Thanks Jen, for being so patient with me thru all my Kayos!  I should be back to normal real soon....if there is a normal  :-).  Bug Hugs.

Busy Bug Babble....No Post tonight :-( AGAIN...)

OM GOSH....Another night of brain rocking headaches. You know the ones where if you move your head, it feels like your brain is rocking inside your skull!    I guess, too much Halloween decorating outside today.  Turning in early with the kids tonight.  Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and get the Gypsy video posted, that I have been working on.  Sorry Jen..:-(  .
Good nite everyone..   Bug Hugs!

Project #31- Vinyl"ed" Pumpkin.

Hi everyone.  Felling a little better today, so I decided to work on my Halloween decor.  I thought it would be fun (and different) to vinyl my pumpkins this year.  I found the BEST VINYL EVER!!!  It is such a breeze to use.  I get my vinyl from Signwarehouse.com.  If you visit their website, go to SHOP and look for vinyl supplies and signmaking in the left column, then the brand they recommend is called ORACAL (for scrapbooking).  It comes in 24 inch rolls that they can cut down to 12 inches.  And they last forever!
I am so excited about how my pumpkins turned out.  I used my Gypsy with my Cricut Expression.   The cartridges were Give a Hoot, for the border above the spiders, and Happy Hauntings for the spiders.  Enjoy.  To make the vinyl stick better, I wiped the pumpkin with Alcohol to get the dirt and oils off.
Enjoy...Bug Hugs!

Here are the vinyl spiders I used.

Busy Bug Babble....Gypsy Fun News

Hello everyone,  I have gotten a request from one of my subscribers, (Hi Jen!  Congrats on your new Gypsy!!  You are gonna love it!)  I will be doing some videos showing the basic features of the Gypsy.  I love using the Gypsy because of a couple of things.   It gives me all of my cartridges in one place, that way I don't have to go searching through cartridges.  It also expands the features of the Cricut.  So come back and visit soon for some Gypsy Fun! Busy Bug Babble...Wow, what a day we had at BYU Idaho

Hello Crafters.  I have no card for today only pictures of our fun day.  We had such a great day today.  Here in Utah, the kids have a school holiday called UEA (Utah Education Association).  It's a convention for teachers,  and the kids have the days off!!  Yipee...time to sleeeeep in (NOT).
Well, since they had no school and the weather was absolutely beautiful, we decided to head on up to Idaho to check out the Sand Dunes and the college grounds of BYU (Brigham Young University).  We took a tour of the college which was so beautiful, and clean.  It was a great place to visit.
We had a blast.  Then we headed over to the dunes.  It was amazing.  There were people on ATV's and a bunch of people playing, and jumping off the dunes.  It was like being on the beach with no water!! (Wish I was at the beach with water ! :-0)

It was the perfect day!  Here are some pictures to share with you all.  Bug Hugs!!

Isn't this tree just so cool!

Taking a rest after her jump.

Look out beloooooow!

There we all are (except for me....behind the camera) as usual :-)
